We’re having a sale! 5/16 & 17

Grand Sale

We’re excited to be hosting our first ever store-wide sale on May 16th and 17th!

Everything (yes, everything!) will be reduced in price by at least 10% (and more) for just these two days — from our unique collection of clothing to our one-of-a-kind gifts for you or your friends. This is a great time to see the store and save some of your hard-earned money.

Plus, if the sale isn’t reason enough to come to Grand, we’re also going to kick things off with a three hour event on Friday (5/16) evening from 6PM-9PM. Beer to be provided by our good friends at Harpoon Brewery. Swing by before you hit the town and check us out, and please feel free to invite your friends as well. Please RSVP to jono@grandthestore.com if you think you and your friends can make it.

Somerville Open Studios - 5/3 & 5/4

Grand will be participating in Somerville Open Studios on May 3 & 4, showcasing our good friend Meg Birnbaum’s work.

We’re excited to be a part of Open Studios, and hope you can stop by and check out Meg’s AMAZING work as well as the store. We’ll be providing snacks and refreshments!

Apparently we’re Players…

Yes the rumors are true…

Wendy, Adam, and I (Jon) were selected by Stuff@Night as Players of 2008.

All the silliness aside, it’s cool to be recognized for all the hard work we’ve put into Grand. Now we just have to work on getting chosen to be Time’s person of the year. Baby steps.

Hizzoner the Mayor

Union Square Main Streets began its first “Second Wednesdays in Union Square” series last Wednesday night and the mayor of Somerville — Joe Curtatone — stopped by for a ribbon cutting. Good times!

Hopefully this will be just the first in a series of ribbon cuttings for Grand in the years to come!

It’s really not that bad…

As those of you who have visited Grand during the past few weeks know, the reconstruction project happening along Somerville Ave is less than fun.

But don’t let that scare you. There’s still PLENTY of metered parking (25 cents for 30 minutes, a bargain!) in Union Sq on Somerville Ave (just past Grand) and along Bow St and Washington St, as well as multiple municipal parking spaces at the Union Square Lot off Washington St, entrance at Washington St/Bonner Ave.

If you need a reminder of where we are, click here for directions.

Or now that warmer weather is here, you can take public transportation, walk, or bike to Grand. If you bike, feel free to bring your bike into the store when you come by.

We know this construction is a pain (trust us!), but don’t let that prevent you from checking us out. There’s always something new here! And it will all be done very soon…
