One Year Party and Sale

Between all the snow, our recent Sip & Shop Hot Buttered Rum day, and the big inauguration (yay!), the past few days have been very busy for us.
So busy that we almost forgot that one year ago today (1/21/2008) we opened Grand for the first time.
It’s hard to imagine that it’s been one whole year, but what a year it’s been. To go from a concept by three friends (Wendy, Jon, & Adam) to where we are today is quite remarkable when you actually stop and think about it, and it’s something we’re quite proud of.
There are far too many people to thank, but know that we appreciate everyone that helped us build what we have today. And let us make a special thank you to our awesome customers and our new neighbors in Union Sq. We’re nothing without you!

With the new year brings new resolutions…
Since most of our resolutions this time of the year tend to involve getting into shape we wanted to do our part. Enter our friends of Shobu Aikido & Union Square Yoga. If you’re looking for an amazing bunch of people to get your 2009 off to a great start, we can’t recommend them highly enough. Both Wendy and I (Jon) have been going to Union Square Yoga for a good month or so and it’s been totally AMAZING.
That said, when’s the last time you drank free sake, learned about Yoga, Aikido and shopped in your favorite store? Hmmmm… Never???

Join us on Wednesday, January 14th 2009 (7-9pm) for an evening of Sake tasting (with complementary Sake) and Yoga and Aikido demonstrations at Grand.
At the event, experts will be on hand to answer questions and lead demonstrations, and to introduce the Shobu 2009 event schedule, including Yoga Drop-In classes, Aikido beginner programs, and many free events and special seminars to interest a variety of people.
