Design Annex in Union Sq Event @ Grand!

Come to Grand this Friday evening from 6-8PM to help launch Design Annex, a new co-working space for the creative economy.

What’s the Design Annex, you ask? The Design Annex provides the resources for small firms and solo practitioners in design fields in Somerville and surrounding communities to grow their businesses. Slated to open in June 2009, the facility includes a co-working space with conference room, lounge with a resource library, shared equipment, and ventilated model building studio. With a tiered membership structure that offers access to networking and educational programming as well as office and equipment resources, the Design Annex seeks to build a robust network of collaborative, thriving, design-related businesses centered in Union Square, Somerville. Brought to you by Union Sq Main Streets.

Food (from our very good friends at Sherman Cafe) and drinks will be provided. Come on by and join as we celebrate this exciting NEW addition to Union Square!

So Crafty!

Don’t get me started on the barrage of magazines folding lately. There is a noticeable absence of awesome magazines coming into my mailbox and I (and about a hundred bloggers that I can think of) am still trying to accept the loss of Domino (and Blueprint, actually, I still really miss that one too). Anyway, one of the latest was Craft. Sadly, we were scheduled to have a mention in what would have been their next issue (we also had a bag featured in the last issue of O at Home magazine right before they called it quits, but we’re trying not to take these things personally).

But! The silver lining of the Craft story is that they’re continuing online, so now you can get tons of Craft-y goodness online daily. And we were recently included in their Travel Crafty: Boston piece. We’re honored to be part of the Boston craftiness!
