And you thought it couldn’t get better than celebrating Fluff last weekend? Well, friends, have we got a surprise for you.
Building on the success of the Ice Cream Showdown, Citysearch Boston, Twitter’s @eatBoston, and Grand are teaming up to produce and promote another event. We’re collecting some of the finest chefs / bakers / restaurants in the city to show off their skills using nuts from Cambridge’s Superior Nut Company.
Participants include Flour Bakery, Kickass Cupcakes, Rocca, The Neighborhood Restaurant, Channel Cafe, Bloc 11, OM Restaurant, how2heroes…and maybe a surprise nut or two. It’s an all-you-can-munch tasting.
Going Nutty will take place on Sunday, October 4th from 2-4pm at Bloc 11 and Grand in Union Square, Somerville. We want Boston’s best to showcase the many dishes — from appetizers to desserts — that one can create with nuts, and we want you to come eat them. Sound good?
Please RSVP at the Facebook event page.
Your suggested donation of $5 will go towards the newly founded Juniper Fund, which was formed to honor John S. Hall, bassplayer for local band Addison Groove Project, who passed away in 2004. This scholarship will go towards an area high school senior who exhibits the same love and passion for music as John.
And don’t forget about the Harvest Fest on Saturday at the new Armory! See you this weekend!
